The New English: Rethinking Ceramics

Among other things this blogger is also a ceramics artist and enthusiast, so I’m always excited when I see something fresh in the ceramics world. After all, how many different ways can you do a tea set? The answer: more than you expected.

The New English is a UK company that has several new product lines of fine bone china out that put a new face (or body, if you will) on to ceramic products. From their website:

“Same is bad, old is good, new is better’ – perhaps not the
most elegant of philosophies, but a clear expression of our
approach to design. For us old is good – we love antiques,
relics, our grandparents, and tradition, but what we don’t like  
is the lazy, narrow-minded approach to product design which
simply seeks to repeat what has gone before, to copy the
past and present it as something new.”

This reminds me a lot of the Antonio Murado Salome Coffee Set except without the limited edition $500 price tag.
